You might or might not have heard about the super famous, Internet-born brand Glossier. It all started in 2010 with the website Into the Gloss an all about beauty blog, going inside of the makeup bags of cool girls all over the globe. Emily Weiss, the badass CEO, featured in the 30 under 30 Forbes List is young, successful and she was even able to make A-List celebrities like Beyoncé, SZA, Saoirse Ronan among others use their makeup on red carpet events (just quite recently). Their website is highly curated in pastel pink hues and their showroom in NYC is the stuff millennial dreams are made of.
My obsession with Glossier started about a year and a half ago, when I joined the beauty community of Instagram in a more serious way, I kept seeing this super hyped cleanser that was able to melt mascara. It sounded too good to be true.
For the next months, I kept obsessing, looking at all of that skincare and makeup, reading reviews, watching YouTube videos of girls with full collections and thinking to myself ‘Why can’t I have that?’. Yeeeeah, that is the annoying part, it is only available in the USA, Canada and now more recently in the UK. One day, one friend went to the States and I asked him, well, I begged him, really, if he could bring me some of the goods. I started off with the miracle cleanser, known as Milky Jelly Cleanser and one Cloud Paint Blush in the shade Dusk, a dusty pink brownie.
It was love at first sight, the packaging (you should know by now that I am a package wh*re..), the formulations, the attention to detail, even the pink pouch they came in, just perfection to a late 20’s girl such as myself.
Through some of my super kind awesome friends, I was able to get my hands on a couple of more products, including some make-up and their fragrance Glossier You.
While that godsend Cleanser is amazing, one can get similar stuff in French pharmacy brands like La Roche-Posay or Germany’s Eucerin. For me, the make-up was the true game changer.
If I would recommend just one product from Glossier I would have to go with the Boy Brow, it is a brow pomade that keeps your eyebrows in place, makes them fuller while still looking natural and giving that ‘I woke up like this’ vibe. Perfect for some quick grooming!
The Stretch Concealer is also amazing, it is barely there, it looks like skin, but better. People noticed something different about me, that I looked well rested, I mean, that’s the goal right?!
I should just state that if you are not into the ‘no makeup, makeup look’, maybe this brand is not for you. None of the products looks like real makeup, but more like a skincare-makeup hybrid, which for me it is perfect for my daily life.
