Dior beauty is nothing new to the beauty industry but now they have come up with a less expensive makeup like known as “Dior Backstage”. Think of this line as the younger version of the classic Dior makeup line, the campaign has an assortment of fresh new faces like Bella Hadid (who designed the contour palette), Chu Wong, Manuela Sanchez and Ruth Bell.
During fashion shows, makeup artists tend to use makeup that is in sample bottles from brands that are still in lab packaging and this is where one might catch the first glimpse of a fresh new brand yet to be released. During the Dior Cruise 2019 show in France, makeup artists were not just using one or two products from a new makeup line; they were using the entire line of the Dior Backstage.
In terms of the name, that was a smart choice fitting of its’ debut and the packaging is quite spot on as well. The entire collection features a clear, acrylic type of packaging that gives you a chance to see all the wonderful shades available.
The line consists of a 40 shade foundation range, a contour palette, an eyeshadow palette, a highlighter palette and a lip palette. The foundation is a waterproof liquid face and body foundation that leaves the skin looking flawless and as natural as one can possibly look whilst having makeup on.
The foundation received high praise after the royal wedding as that is the exact foundation that makeup artist Daniel Martin used to create the perfect bridal look for Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle. She looked natural and pretty during her nuptials and that can easily be achieved using the Dior Backstage foundation.

The eyeshadow palette features warm and cool tones plus a creamy eyelid primer. This is a bonus for the beauty enthusiast who knows that to not prime would be a crime punishable by the ultimate eyeshadow crease.
The contour palette was created by Bella Hadid who happens to be a master of a well-contoured face according to Peter Phillips who is the Image and creative director of the entire Dior beauty line.
The highlighters have something for every skin tone; from rose tones to champagne tones that come with a do it all face brush. The lip palette is a combination of sheer, matte and satin tones. With this line, you can have it all at once.
The line is currently available at Sephora and quite affordable considering this is a luxury brand. The foundation goes for 40$, the contour palette is 45$, the highlighter palette is 45$, the eyeshadow palette is 49$ and the lip kit is worth 49$.
The reviews are stellar and this could be the ultimate summer beauty line. Interested in looking like a runway model or a modern-day royal bride? Then this could be the makeup line for you.
