After the layovers in Switzerland and Austria, Chopard will divulge its latest chronograph the L.U.C. Full Strike during the Grand Prix de Monaco this May. While presenting in Vienna, we got the chance to have a closer look at the Haute Horlogerie house’s latest masterpiece.
The sound of a sapphire
The Chopard L.U.C. Full Strike is a masterpiece of its very own, not only by design but also the authentic manufacture of this impeccable chronograph. Chopard created the first watch that uses transparent sapphire crystal, which makes the purest gong of striking the hours. Assembled from one sapphire block, the produced sound is neither metallic nor abrupt, but a full crystal clear gong. The sound and the silence, are the two intrinsic elements in the watch. The breaks of silence in between the hours, quarter-hours and minutes, when one nearly with anticipation awaits the following chime.
The ethical aspect
The case of the Chopard’s L.U.C. Full Strike watch is designed with 18-carat “Fairmined” white-gold, ensuring the ethical, humane and environmentally correct production of the material. This does not only pledges a stunning and beautiful chronograph but also an ethical way of production, that ought to substantiate in luxury industry. Starting in July this year, Chopard will be using gold that is exclusively certified by Fairmined. Correspondingly, Chopard has always been striving for more sustainable ways to work, thus a big milestone in the history of the company will be reached.
