A Celebration of the Human Body – Nicholas Nybro SS18

What is beauty? What is the beauty of fashion? What is fashion? And what is the beauty of the human body? All these questions were left with the audience when Nicholas Nybro walked down the runway to close the show, dressed according to the topic of the collection – in nothing.

It takes a lot for a designer to present his latest (fashion) collection with half of the models marching down the runway naked (not displayed, you can see the whole collection here (NSFW)). Not only does it seem antonymous to the idea of a presentation, it also can lead to taking away the focus from the clothes. Then again, Nicholas Nybro seems to know what he is doing since the undressed models fit beautifully into his presentation.

“The Body,” Nicholas Nybro’s SS18 was an homage to the human body, it’s differences, it’s volume and it’s spectrum. The question of the shade(s) “nude” in Fashion has been around ever since the “nude” dress Michelle Obama wore in 2010. Nicholas Nybro’s SS18 color scheme showed a broad spectrum of interpretation’s of the color nude. From an ashy rob over different shades of yellow and caramel to darker shades of brown, the collection was generally held in an earthy color palette.

Again focusing on the human body, the Nicholas Nybro SS18 collection features voluminous dresses, like the Victorian-inspired dress in an earthy brown, and long evening dresses with drapes. Showing ruffles as much as long silhouettes, the Nicholas Nybro SS18 collection will not only be adored by his followers but offers a selection of pieces for a broad spectrum of customers.
